RF Signal Distribution and Attenuation Control

LAMTA solves the RF cable mess that plagues every lab. Cable everything once and lock the cabinet doors. Control signal distribution through software using the LAMTA UI.

LAMTA is used to reconfigure the lab between tests, as well as to execute functionality and performance testing (handovers, cell edge testing, etc.)

Manipulate multiple RF signals simultaneously to replicate multiple handovers, MIMO and carrier aggregation.

Graphical Dashboard

Get a top-down, system block diagram view of your entire lab. LAMTA provides a graphical view of how the lab is configured and connected.

LAMTA replaces spreadsheets and hard-to-maintain drawings of RF and optical connections with an interactive as-built diagram that is always up-to-date.

Simply double-click on any device to see connection details. Right-click to open a content-sensitive control menu. Click to drag objects to re-arrange the view.

Multi-vendor support

In addition to Acentury RF attenuation arrays and matrices, LAMTA also supports RF and optical equipment from a variety of different manufacturers. LAMTA controls these devices as though you are standing at the front panel or using the vendor’s interface.

As such, LAMTA can re-use equipment that is already in-place, preserving existing investments.

Please contact Acentury for the currently supported vendor list or to suggest a new one.

Advanced Mobility

Advanced Mobility controls multiple RF paths independently and simultaneously to replicate complex real-world RF scenarios. Automate and repeat complex Handover and Roaming tests, including MIMO and Carrier Aggregation. Even multi-site handovers are supported.

Set up tests that include multiple RF sources and execute them hundreds or even thousands of times. They can be started manually or scheduled to begin and end at certain times.

All test iterations are identically repeated through software control, so test results are perfectly reproducible.

UE Control

Control both UE and attenuation from the same software interface with LAMTA, reducing the number of software tools required to run tests.

LAMTA supports many UE simultaneously and all UE are sharable resources within the system. This means that any tester can access them, depending on assignment settings.

The UE connect directly to the LAMTA Server. There’s no need for a host PC & Remote Desktop software for each UE, saving money and simplifying the test setup.

E2E Scripting

E2E Scripting allows the tester to control multiple independent pieces of lab equipment from within the same script.

Automate and repeat tedious UE commands like MO/MT calls, SMS, and file download while controlling RF signal distribution and attenuation for complex handover and cell edge testing.

Run different scripts UE simultaneously to perform multiple tests in parallel.

E2E Scripting provides powerful end-to-end testing capability.

Remote Testing Access

LAMTA is server-based, and is accessed via browser, so the lab is accessible from anywhere there is a secure network connection.

All equipment is controlled via Ethernet or direct USB connection to the LAMTA server.

Multiple simultaneous users are supported, from multiple locations. Perform testing from your office, your home or another city.

Resource Assignment

Share expensive and limited testing equipment among multiple testers. The standard Resource Assignment feature in LAMTA helps co-ordinate the use of testing resources to improve lab organization and effectiveness.

Give access only to the equipment that individual testers need for their jobs. Avoid the potential for interrupted testing or misplaced equipment.

Resource Reservation / Calendar

This optional feature enhances the standard Resource Availability feature with a Calendar view.

This visual guide provides a straightforward way to show what Resources are available and when, and to reserve specific lab resources for a defined time-period.

Resource Reservation helps prevent testing interruptions and keeps the lab organized.

RF Monitor

LAMTA RF Monitor is a cost-effective way to monitor the RF environment in the lab to look for unwanted signals or other interference. Scan results are displayed directly in the LAMTA user interface.

RF Monitor supports LTE and 5GNR scanning to specifically identify signals (PCI, RSSI, MNC / MCC, RSRQ, SINR), as well as a spectrum analyzer sweep function to identify energy (without signal decode).

All scanners are networked for local or remote access. A single user can access multiple scanners, and multiple users can access the same scanner.

Wireless and optical network testing

LAMTA is designed for all types of optical and RF testing, regardless of frequency band and air interface protocol.

By controlling the radio layer (Layer 1), LAMTA can create the appropriate RF conditions for testing any technology. Simply choose the RF signal distribution / attenuation and shield box equipment that is compatible with the frequency bands you wish to test.

By controlling the optical switching layer (Layer 1), LAMTA can reconfigure the signal connections in the lab to create different network topologies and conditions.

Network Impairment Control

The Xena Chimera from Teledyne Systems is a sophisticated tool that controls impairment on optical and Ethernet links to emulate different wireline network conditions and performance.

With the optional Impairment Control feature, you can operate the Xena Chimera network impairment emulator directly from the LAMTA UI. This can be used to easily reconfigure connections between various lab elements for testing different network configurations.

LAMTA brings Xena control into the overall lab orchestration solution for E2E test setup and execution.

High Availability Server

When testing is critical, the LAMTA HA Server option provides a redundant platform server architecture for system uptime assurance.

This feature provides a warm failover server as well as a separate database server to ensure system data is preserved.  It also hosts the user proxy and hardware switch services to maintain IP connectivity in the event of a primary server failure.

Resource Management

Network test labs require a lot of different types of equipment and resources to fulfill their purpose. LAMTA provides the administrative tools to manage these resources.

Create, configure and manage various testing resources in the lab, including RF and optical signal control equipment, radio sources, UE and more.

Optical Switch Control

Optical signals are as important as RF signals for E2E network testing. The routing determines the network topology, and their characteristics determine how fronthaul, midhaul and backhaul links perform.

LAMTA can control optical signal routing between various network elements to quickly change network topology or create different test cases.

NE Control

Modification of network parameters is often part of functionality and performance testing. With this feature, these parameters can be controlled through the LAMTA UI.

This simplifies the test setup and execution, since LAMTA only accesses the relevant parameters. This reduces the need for extensive RAN configuration training or specialist resources.

NE parameters are accessed via TR.069 or OSS API interface (may require some integration).
